SELF-LOVE SUNDAY: LEADING YOUR OWN HAPPINESS
When it comes to your life and your happiness, it's only you that has full control. People will try to change your mind, lead you off in a different path, show you different ways and send you off in to storms, but you ultimately control that. You are the one that says 'yes, I will try that' or 'no, that's not for me'. Life is about finding your happiness, and finding your path in life. Not everything is for everyone.
This topic came into my head while I was thinking about university this week. It's so exciting to see all of my amazing and wonderful friends (in the blogging world, and 'real' world) heading off to uni, but it brings me to think, is everyone made for uni? This leads me on to the thought of how different path ways in life take us to different places. We have to choose which way to lead and we have to take the first step because we guide our own life. We have to walk on with our heads held high, in the hope that we have made a good, or the right choice. I guess that can seem quite daunting, but for me it gives me a feeling of adventure and an ability to explore different experiences. I mean, let's face it, you can't actually go wrong with life. You can get anywhere you want by following different paths. If it takes you longer to get somewhere, then so be it. You'll gain experience while you're working your way there. A different path doesn't mean you can't or won't get somewhere.
This then leads on to the idea some people have of having to go to uni to be massively successful and own a huge house, etc etc. We all know by now that this isn't true. It can't be the only way to become successful because university is not made for everyone. There's plenty of ways to become successful without going to university and people's idea of success are different. Success for some may be just being content, while for other's it could be earning lots of money and having a professional job. We are all aiming for different things.
I almost see this world as a massive maze or puzzle. You know the ones you used to do as a child? Where you had to follow a line to get to the thing at the end, and there was places where you could go wrong, turnings to trick you? Life is like that. You find broken and lost people, confused people and also people who just fly through it, but eventually we all find our ways through the maze or puzzle of life. We just have to find how the pieces fit together.
Ultimately, what I am trying to say is that you don't have to follow a life that you feel you should lead. Follow a life that you want to lead! Find your happiness. At the end of the day you will get where you want to be, whether that's in half or double the time you planned to do it in, who cares? You will get there, and that is all that matters. Just find the life you want to lead and you'll find your happiness along the way.
Have you ever felt pressured into following a certain path?

Love this post. What you are saying is very true people should be free to make their own decisions about the future as it's their life. I know I've definetly felt the pressure. x

This is a great post! I pretty certain that I don't want to go to Uni, I may want to do degrees at my college or an open university course but a uni life is not for me, I accept that but some people find it really hard to but I have learnt to lead my own life and my own happiness! x

This was a great read! University was always something I wanted to do and I never felt pushed into it, but I have a lot of friends who aren't enjoying it but feel they can't drop out! Would love if you could check out my recent fashion post? :)

Lovely post, making sure you're happy is the ultimate post important thing in life. If it's true we only get one life then we may as well enjoy it, I'm beginning university next month too which is both exciting and scary. It's so cool to be able to say I am officially a fashion student!
