MY NEW WARDROBE STAPLE

I recently went shopping with a friend and I found this authentic, quite funky, over sized shirt that I fell in love with. I wasn't actually looking for anything in particular, it was a kind of 'get out, look around' kind of day, and I didn't actually intend to buy so much. However, as always, I managed to spend a lot more than I would have liked, which I don't regret at all. I wear this top so much now and I absolutely love it!

My friend Lauren that I went on my adventures with is quite extravagant and she inspires me to express myself through what I wear. I used to stick to the really boring, mainstream kind of things - a typical pair of skinny blue jeans and a small fitting top - but I definitely think that this shirt is more me. I feel that the unusual pattern adds a sense of diversity to the outfit, and the shapes are just overall bazar, but I love it! I wear it a lot because it is insanely comfortable and it makes me feel calm to wear something loose for once. I usually wear quite fitted tops, so this is a tad bit out of my range when it comes to clothes. But I like that my style is changing. The material is quite light and breathable but it's not at all see through which is always a good trait with clothes!

Carrying on with the idea of being mainstream, I am not a typical teenager who spend £20 on a top anymore. Actually, this shirt was from a thrift shop, called Re-Pyscho which many people actually fail to believe. You're probably wondering why I would shop in a charity shop when I am only 16? Well I must admit that it is partly down to Lauren's influence - she always shops in charity shops. But I also think that it's just how I like to style myself to be different and to find my own personal dress sense. I have got to admit that I have definitely turned into a bit of a bargain hunter recently, and charity shops are ideal. As well as being a good samaritan, you get to find cute little tops just like this one, at a price cheap as chips. What more could you want?

I think that I will continue to shop in charity shops for a while. Especially during student life and when I go to uni, the cheaper, the better. I am not too keen with today's fashion and I would happily skip back to the late 20th century's fashion. Charity shops are often about 10 times cheaper than other high street stores as well, which is always a bonus. I do love charity shops!

Do you shop in charity shops? Would you ever consider doing so?

  9. I love that shirt, Chloe! It's really fashionable. Sometimes clothes from thrift shops and charity shops are great and unique. Not only you find wonderful and cheaper clothes there, but you also help others by patronizing their charity. Isn't that nice? Haha! I hope you'll find more clothes and share them with us soon. Have a great day! :)
